Saraiva, Margarida

Margarida’s work focuses in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms regulating the expression of IL-10 in myeloid cells, particularly macrophages. We are interested in events ranging from chromatin remodelling to transcription factors and signalling cascades. More recently, we have been exploring a mouse model of inducible IL-10 over-expression to gain insight into the mechanisms underlying the suppressive action of IL-10 in hematopoiesis or during an immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
